munkka win $500 fnatic PLAY cup

The Finnish mix team munkka have won the first fnatic PLAY cup in 2012, awarding them with a $500 prize.
Three days of action in the fnatic PLAY cup came to the end Sunday evening, munkka facing TeG to determine which of the two teams would score the $500 prize.
TeG made it to the final via a 16-14 win against French team e2g in the quarter-final and a 2-0 win against the Finnish mix team PBLT in the semi-final. The Finns from munkka made way to the final via a 16-11 win against the Swedish team eazycake in the quarter-final and a 2-1 victory against the Swedish/Norwegian AWTR team in the semi-final.
The final start on de_inferno and the two teams produced some eye candy for us. The map was brought to round thirty before a winner of the map was found, munkka pulled out 16-14 to claim the 1-0 lead. On second map de_nuke, TeG managed to produce a 10-5 lead after the first half, but second half did not go well for the Romanian team. The Finns took eleven rounds, while TeG only managed to win one, meaning munkka won 16-11 and 2-0 overall to win the fnatic PLAY cup.

The fnatic PLAY admin team informed us that they are developing a new website, which will rule out future logging in and registration issues, making the process much easier. They strive to create bigger tournaments, featuring 128 and even up to 256 teams and Counter-Strike 1.6 is definitley a game they will be looking to include for future tournaments.
